Cow Falls Off Cliff, Crashes Onto Van on Highway

MANSON, Wash. — Charles and Linda Everson were driving back to their hotel when their minivan was struck by a falling object — a 600-pound cow.
The Eversons were unhurt but the cow, which had fallen off a cliff, had to be euthanized.
The year-old cow fell about 200 feet from the cliff and landed on the hood of the couple's minivan, causing heavy damage.
A Chelan County fire chief, Arnold Baker, said the couple missed being killed by a matter of inches in the accident Sunday on a highway near Manson.
The Eversons, visiting the area from their home in Westland, Mich., to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, were checked at Lake Chelan Community Hospital as a precaution.
Everson, 49, said he didn't see the cow falling and didn't know what happened until afterward.
He said he kept repeating: "I don't believe this. I don't believe this."
This is a bit of a crazy story and the even crazier part was that we know this couple from Michigan. We were sent the link form another friend in MI but saw it online and in the newspaper. We had no idea they were in our part of the country. It would have been fun to see them but I am not sure if they are coming through ID. This will certainly be a story for them to tell for years to come. Thank goodness they are ok.

yeah, I couldn't believe it when I found out they were our friends...I saw this clip online on cnn and then later received the email that was going around saying who it was. When I first saw it, I thought it was odd that they didn't want to be interviewed on t.v.! That should've been more of a clue. Anyway, amazing story.
the odd thing is, this exact same thing happened to me twice in the last week. weird.
