July fun

So earlier in the month, the kids and I headed over to my sister and brother-in-law's place to welcome our new nephew Ronan into the world. I forgot my camera and so have *no* pics of the very fun week we enjoyed in CA. Lots of cousin playing time--the kids did great and had a ball. Ronan is very sweet and everyone seems to be doing great. My sister is amazing--she had a great birth and then came home to be a mom to three boys (gulp)! They're so cute that you can't help but smile at them, though. We left on a Monday, but the Sunday before our kids had their bags packed (filled with very important things like stuffed animals and pieces of paper and keychains):
A week later, we arrived back to a very green and overgrown garden. Siena harvested her first zucchini! We (that is, Conrad) got it in a bit late this year due to some irrigation problems, but we'll still get to enjoy some produce--just a bit later than everyone else. Siena enjoys watering it every evening and reporting on what's growing.

The kids and Conrad went down to take a picture of Audrey, Adrian, Kendall, and (I think) Brooke as they floated down the river. We did this trip with the kids ourselves last week, but we didn't have a way to bring a camera. It's a very fun, easy trip; you start at a park about 3 miles away and then float down into down. We just got out near our house and walked home! Pretty lucky.
This Saturday the kids and I went to the Farmers' Market for the first time all summer. They have really nice, free art sessions for the kids, and so Siena made a fairy wand and Remy a mosaic:
